Punjab

At the forefront of Partition’s bloodiest battles, the Punjab has overcome its turbulent history and is once again one of India’s most profitable agriculture states, and a burgeoning business hub. Home to the Golden Temple, the most important pilgrimage site to Sikhs, the state is renowned for its rich cuisine. Some of India’s most popular dishes hail from here, including Butter Chicken and Chole Bhature, as does the fabled Patiala Peg (around 120ml serving of whiskey). Best visited between October and March.
