The ancient city of Dwarka, located along the southern coast of Gujarat, overlooks the sparkling shores of the Arabian Sea. A famous Hindu pilgrimage site, it is home to Dwarkadhish Temple, which archaeologists believe to date back over 2000 years, though its intricately tiered shrine, was added between the 15th and 16th century. Formerly a prominent shipping port, though major trading routes have since been moved to nearby Okha, its lighthouse is still visible, and a wonderful photo opportunity. Best visited between November and February.
