Darjeeling

India’s number one producer of tea, Darjeeling has been growing its signature blend for over 150 years, exporting their leaves to the likes of Harrods, its emerald green terraces are unmistakable. Surrounded by the blue, snow-capped mountains of Mount Kanchenjunga, at over 28,000 feet, it is one of the world’s highest. With popular hiking trails, colonial architecture, the charming ‘Toy Train’, traditional afternoon teas: there are plenty of quaint ways to explore this year-round festive little town and plenty of excellent accommodation options. Best visited between the months of October and March, with the ‘first flush’ picked from March-May.
